The PlayBrothas is a music production duo comprised of J Lorenz and Brian Berry(Hitz-B), combining strong musicianship, modern production, and a deep understanding of contemporary music culture. Their work blends elements of Latin, pop, urban, Jazz influence, cinematic, and contemporary styles, creating a versatile catalog suitable for artists, film, television, and media.

J Lorenz is a touring musician, music director, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer who has performed and collaborated with a wide range of national and international artists. His experience on live stages, touring bands, and professional studio environments brings a strong sense of groove, musicality, and real instrumentation into every production.

Hitz-B is a producer and creative collaborator known for his work with a variety of artists throughout the Chicagoland music scene, contributing his ear for production, arrangement, and artist development. Together, the duo blends live musicianship with modern sound design to create music that feels both authentic and contemporary.

Working out of Oak Park Recording Studio (OPRS) in the greater Chicagoland area, The PlayBrothas develop music that bridges the worlds of live musicianship and modern production, crafting tracks that feel authentic, energetic, and emotionally engaging.
